21st Century Classrooms

There's alot that comes to mind when I think of my 21st century classroom, for starters it would be extremely diverse because I see myself educating in my hometown of Springfield, Ma. I feel like I would make a much needed positive impact in my community hence the reason for me wanting to teach back at home. Inside the classroom I'll have charts and graphs on the walls for students to glance at and begin to memorize. Math and Science books for students to read along with some black owned magazines such as Enterprise to expand the student’s business mind set. I’m big on sports so I’ll have some Lakers, Eagles, Yankees, Patriots and Fort Valley paraphernalia around the classroom. They’ve already begun to integrate more technology into the classrooms, so; I expect to see Cable TV’s so students know what’s going on in the world (CNN), a few Ipads making it easier for students to do searches, and maybe even some digital books. Uniforms also seem to be entering public schools so I see a classroom where all the students are dressed in uniform thus causing fewer distractions. I'll assign seating instead of allowing students to sit where they please; it helps especially with a wild and talkative class. For help around the class I’ll have a few volunteer assistants. As far as the teaching going on inside the classroom, it’ll be simple and easy to comprehend and as far as the class itself is concerned after six months with me, it’ll be a well mannered, sociable, and educated group of young men and women.

  2. I like the fact that you didn't say an impact on your class but an impact on the community and that is a great start. We sometimes only go as far as the classroom but if you already have in mind that you're going to touch more than your current students then you will go far.

  3. You seem to have your classroom management completely organized in your head. I like that! You have already planned on how you're going to make sure you get the best out of your students. I also like the fact that you want to go back to your hometown to teach,so you can make a difference and that you plan to have black owned magazines in your class for your kids to read.
